Optimizing Layout for Day-to-Day Living

By opening up the side wall to link directly into the new extension and reroofing the existing conservatory, the home’s layout undergoes a major functional shift. This structural reconfiguration zones the property perfectly, positioning all primary daytime living spaces at the quiet rear of the house to maximize privacy and centralize daily family life.

Connecting the Indoors with the Garden

The boundary between indoor comfort and outdoor beauty is entirely erased through the use of high-performance glazing and wide, folding sliding doors. This transparent facade ensures the established rear garden acts as a living backdrop, creating an inviting, open atmosphere that naturally extends the interior living space into the outdoors.

All-Weather Design and Solar Control

To balance the abundance of glass, architectural roof canopies and louvres are cleverly woven into the exterior design. These features provide vital passive solar control to prevent summer overheating, while also offering deep shelter so the external doors can remain wide open for fresh air, even during a sudden downpour.

Refreshing the External Aesthetic

The home's curb appeal gets a major upgrade by replacing the dated white-painted timber cladding, aging guttering, and worn windows. Introducing premium, low-maintenance materials not only protects the building from the elements but completely revitalizes its architectural character, bringing the appearance firmly into the modern era.
