Set on a secluded plot with a large, south-facing rear garden, our clients asked us to reinvent this dormer bungalow into a home with modern, open-plan ground floor living and larger first floor bedrooms.
About the project
A Strongly Defined Character
By reconfiguring the roof on top of the original ground floor walls, we created a series of gables that give the house a strongly defined new character. Balconies and a roof terrace to the south-facing master bedroom create wonderful spots to sit and connect with the garden from the first floor.
A Home Office With Its Own Staircase
The garage roof was also altered to create a home office, with an internal staircase linking it back to the house.
Finishing Touches
Existing and new walls are finished in through-colour render, timber cladding, and oak frames, giving the whole house a smart, brand-new feel.
