Harrowby Lane
This project transforms a large but dated house into a genuinely contemporary home.
About the project
Stripping Back the Dated
The external walls were stripped of their mock-Tudor cladding and replaced with contemporary insulated materials, instantly modernising the building's appearance.
Opening Up the Interior
The ground floor layout was opened up to provide open-plan living accommodation that connects with the rear garden and allows far more daylight into the interior. Awkward, bolt-on extensions from the house's history were adapted to form considered, contemporary additions rather than being left as afterthoughts.
The Result
A warm, modern, and well-daylit home that stands out on the street as a genuine example of what good design can do for a tired, dated house.
Architecture done right.
This is what's possible when design and attention to detail come together.
