12 Bank Hill
Our clients wanted an ultra-modern, open-plan house with cantilevered floors and double-height spaces, visually and physically connected to their gardens and the countryside beyond.
About the project
A Floating Staircase
One of the client's requests was for a bespoke staircase rising up through the double-height space. Working with a glass specialist, we designed a staircase that appears to defy gravity, with the steps floating between two sheets of structural glass.
A Sensitive Site
The site sits adjacent to the Woodborough Conservation Area, Nottingham, which meant the planning process needed careful handling. The Planning Officers recommended approval, and we gained planning consent.
Architecture done right.
This is what's possible when design and attention to detail come together.
